Coaching Spotlight: Letting Go to Grow the Company
Running a business often means juggling a million responsibilities. And for one business owner we work with, that was just a regular Tuesday. The truth is, he liked being involved in every aspect of the business.
However, wearing too many hats, he was stretched thin. Despite this, he was still reluctant to hand off anything involving technology integration. It wasn’t just a role, it was his role. He knew the importance of this work in the overall operations of his company. He feared that no one would care about it as much as he did.
But when it came time to hire for this critical position, something changed. He chose to trust the process. He knew the right person would help grow the company.
With coaching, he clarified exactly what he wanted out of the role, proactively prepared for interviews, and followed every step of the Core Fit Blueprint. Before the team began interviewing, they knew exactly what he wanted from the role. The hiring team moved deliberately and when they extended the offer, it was to their clear top choice.
Now, just a week and a half in, that new hire is exceeding expectations – by a long shot. The owner couldn’t believe how quickly he hit the ground running. He told us how grateful he is for the work we do and that it’s thanks to the process they followed that they were able to find such a right-fit hire.
Letting go isn’t easy. But with the right system in place, it doesn’t have to be a leap of faith, it can be a strategic move toward freedom.
