Crash of Rhinos Painting

“Ryan’s system has SIGNIFICANTLY improved the quality of people that both apply and that we hire.”

– Mike Ricker

My name is Mike Ricker. I’m the owner of Crash of Rhino’s Painting. I’m a residential exterior painting contractor here in Phoenix, Arizona.

In March 2020, we had made the decision to move forward with hiring W2 two employees rather than 1099 subcontractors. That alone would’ve been enough for a company to have some struggles. Two weeks into the process, the big news of Covid was announced creating additional problems.

We struggled for about six months trying to get through this.

When I found out about Ryan and Core Matters, I contacted him. We had some initial meetings, and I made the decision within two days to move forward with Core Matters and their process. Our hope was to get a grip on all of the issues facing us in the contracting industry with regard to hiring personnel and the high turnover rate.

The process that Ryan had was exceptional, reducing turnover, hiring techniques, even what questions I should and should not ask and when I should ask them. Within the interview process, those were very helpful because it was items specific to our business that I had to deal with rather than part of a larger group setting.

Since moving forward, we have reduced our turnover rate from about 150% per year to less than 20%. It has significantly improved the quality of people that both apply and that we hire. I’m extremely happy with the processes and the program that Ryan provided to us and the help that he gave.

We continue to work with him, and it has been, especially during this covid time, something that has helped us keep our business profitable and afloat. And I would not hesitate at all to give him my highest recommendation. Crash of Rhinos Painting
